We are looking for a Manager of Mechanical Design!This is a line manager role with 10-15 direct reports, a team of mechanical design engineers who are responsible for all test system mechanical design. As a people leader, your key area of responsibility is to mentor, coach, challenge and develop engineers in the team as well as continuously seeking opportunities for operational processes improvement.You will foster a creative and learning culture and drive Technology evolution for our HW development. This is an opportunity to be part of the Test Hardware Development leadership team and participate in the development and implementation of testing hardware development to enable our company success!Our ideal candidate has strong experience in technical/engineering personal leadership and development, genuinely enjoys solving people problems as well as motivating engineers to develop and grow.This position is based at Punane tn 72, Lasnamäe Tallinn with the expectation to support the on-site team with some flexibility of hybrid working.What you will do:
  • Developing competences of employees according to the competence development plan.
  • Improvement of development and maintenance processes in regards of Mechanical Design responsibilities.
  • Ensure execution of department strategy and Administration of employees.
  • Resource allocation, optimization and balancing between projects and activities.
The skills you bring:
  • Previous technical or engineering people and/or project leadership experience
  • Ability to effectively evaluate and provide feedback on an employee's job performance, contributions, and areas for improvement
  • Proven track record of developing people through coaching, mentoring new team members and upskilling existing staff
  • Understanding organizational goals to align strategies and initiatives with business objectives
  • Analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Previous experience in managing changes
  • English proficiency at a conversational level
  • Master of Mechanical or Electronic Engineering or similar degree
